Start of summer

Well I’ve reached the end of my football season and finished it off with an under 14 cup final on the line. Loved the experience and hopefully it’s the first of many to come, hopefully the rest won’t be in the rain though. In other footballing news, next season I’ll be running the line for some games in the Staffordshire County Senior league…. Going up in the world!!!!!

Had my first cricket game on Saturday, opened the batting with a nice 23 and nearly took a rather athletic catch at deep mid-wicket. Out first team won their first game in the National Village Cup #RoadToLords.

Exam season is now in full swing and my last full day wearing our hideous bottle green blazers is this Friday!!!!! To say I’m slightly looking forward to my 11 week summer holiday is an understatement.

Introduction

Well, here I am. A 16 year old lad who’s willing to give most sports a go. This blog will mostly be about my journey through refereeing and cricket with a splash of info on how my school stuff is going, so here goes.

Refereeing

This season is my first full season as a referee after completing the referees course in January 2013 and I have to say I absolutely love it and I can’t be doing too badly either, involved in 3 cup semi finals this season!!! Most weekends I referee under 13’s/under 14’s and officiate under 10’s every other Saturday.

Cricket

Well, the start of the season hasn’t quite gone to plan. If I tell the truth my season hasn’t started yet due to fracturing my finger playing basketball… oops. Hopefully I’ll be playing soon and will have a bit more to talk about.

School

I’m now half way through my Easter break but it hasn’t been much of a break. Revision is now in full flow ready for my exams in May/June, I’m rather looking forward to them being over and my nice 11 week summer break.

I’ll post again soon and thanks for reading!!!
